Mr. Sandeep Kumar Singh is an active Indian politician and a youth icon in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India. In 2022, He got re-elected for his second term as Member of Legislative assembly in Uttar Pradesh from Atrauli. Presently, he is Minister of Basic Education (Independent charge) in Uttar Pradesh. Mr. Singh earlier served as the Minister of State for Finance, Technical and Medical Education in the Government of Uttar Pradesh for the term 2017-2022 He is Member of Legislative Assembly (M.L.A.) from Atrauli constituency, Uttar Pradesh. He was born on 24th June 1991 in Lucknow, India. Singh was born to BJP leader Rajveer Singh and Prem Lata Verma. He is the grandson of prominent BJP leader late Shri Kalyan Singh who was former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh twice and Former Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan. Ever since he was born, he saw his family serving the people courteously and selflessly from two generations. Following his family’s footsteps and to carry forward the legacy of his family, Singh joined politics to serve people and work for the welfare of the Indian society. Singh is a member of Bharatiya Janata party (B.J.P.) since 2014.

Mr. Sandeep Kumar Singh attained his primary education from Lucknow and spend some time away in a boarding school in Nainital, Uttarakhand. He returned to his hometown Aligarh to complete his senior years of schooling from DPS, Aligarh. He began his undergraduate career in Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) at Delhi University before moving to Leeds, United Kingdom to do his post-graduation in Public relations and strategic communication (M.A.) from Leeds Beckett University. After completion of his post-graduation degree, he returned to India and got actively involved in Social services and society welfare programs. Singh has always looked upon his grand father Late Shri Kalyan Singh as his role model and source of inspiration. He learnt a great deal from him. Ever since from his childhood, he used to attend public meetings and rallies with his grandfather and then with his father and mother. His father Mr. Rajveer Singh is a former M.L.A and Health Minister who is currently serving his second term as a Member of Parliament (M.P.) from Etah constituency, Uttar Pradesh. His mother has also served as an M.L.A from Atrauli constituency, Uttar Pradesh. Singh used to step in quite frequently in the public meetings for his father and mother which gave him a good understanding of people and their issues.

In 2016, Singh actively started interacting with public and visiting the villages and towns in and around his hometown Aligarh. In 2017, Singh contested in the state elections held that year from his family’s stronghold of Atrauli where he emerged victorious making him one of the youngest M.L.A in Uttar Pradesh at the age of 25. He was appointed Minister of State for Primary, Secondary, Higher, Technical and Medical Education, making him the youngest minister in the Chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s Cabinet. Singh was also appointed as the Minister in Charge of Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh. Since then he has been working very hard to bring new reforms for the society and provide support and assistance to those at disadvantage. He has been part of many initiatives taken by the U.P. Government for the people. He has been consistently working to improve the infrastructure and facilities of the government schools and colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Singh emphasised on the importance of bringing transparency in the education system and to take appropriate measures to put an end to cheating and fraudulence in the education system. Singh also avidly promoted the importance of sports, yoga and physical education in the government schools to ensure students enhance their physical and mental abilities. He believes Indian students need to have an overall development as they lack in it due to poor facilities and infrastructure. Singh respects and treats everyone equally irrespective of religion, caste, creed, colour or gender.
